Kagome watched with the taiyoukai as the children ran off, laughing as they threw flower petals on one another. She laughed softly, before falling to her knees.

"Kids... they can wear you out, ne?" She smiled, looking to the taiyoukai with bright eyes. He said nothing, but silently agreed with the miko. Children were, indeed, tiring.

"Thanks for coming here, Sesshomaru. Shippou loves playing with Rin." She said, laying down on the grass, wincing when she laid on her bow and quiver.

"You are tired." He noted, watching as her eyes kept falling shut every few moments.

"Hm? Oh, I'll be fine." She said, closing her eyes once more.

Sesshomaru watched with keen interest as she slept, and even dared to approach her slumbering form, kneeling down towards her. His chest buzzed inside of him - unknown feelings erupting for the dark recesses of his empty heart.

'Have you something to protect?' His fathers words rang in his ears. He looked to the miko once more, struggling to come up with an answer.

The answer was obvious - only a fool would deny it. Once he had won her heart, as she had his, then he would truly be the most feared youkai of all Japan.

He picked up her slumbering body and gently positioned her so that he was carrying her on his back, with her head nestled on his neck, submered under silken strands. She sighed softly, nuzzling her face deeper into his hair. He couldn't help but look at the miko, smiling softly.

This, he decided, would be his biggest conquer.
