The Girl in the Portrait
Picture information
Description:
I promised the fabulous FaeHime that during this holiday I would draw at least one fan art for her story, and with this, my promise is fulfilled to its minimum! XD Now I can get working on my website without guilt gnawing at me, hahaha.
This picture depicts the latest chapter of Before There Were Fairy Tales, a story which I am enjoying immensely. This scene shows when Tsukau (my favourite character!) reveals to the reader the identity of one of the mysterious characters in the Lord of Setsuna's painting - the identity of the little girl, Kagome, who will sacrifice herself to save Tsukau. He can't abide that thought, and vows that no matter what, he won't let her die, only...the Lord of Setsuna told him that no matter what he tried to do, Kagome would still die.
The relationship between Kagome and Tsukau is a lot of what makes me love him so. I've always been more attracted to father figures, probably because I love my dad very much, and I enjoy spending time with him. The thought of being torn from him (or my mother or brother) is one I can't bear to think about, and so having Tsukau, who thinks of Kagome as a daughter, have to deal with the knowledge that Kagome will die to save him...needless to say, I can imagine some of the helplessness, and the determination, that he feels in that moment.
I hope you like this, FaeHime! I look forward to seeing what you'll choose to draw from my story!

You might have, but you can say it again!! XD
Hehehe, is dark because I was too lazy to do a whole portrait. But shhhhh, don't tell anyone!
But yeah, the portrait, while in the title, isn't the emphasis in the picture, its Tsukau and the fact that whatever is in the portrait has kidney punched him so hard he's bowled over and started crying. The only detail on the portrait is a white figure (whom we still don't know the identity of), and two black figures, the smaller of which Tsukau's hand is touching - that is Kagome. Otherwise its just scribbles really. Nothing to see here *whistles*
