Taiyaki for a Taiyoukai?

I know there's something of a hot debate on the taiyoukai v. daiyoukai issue - although the first character can be read both ways, apparently the 'correct' way is "Dai". Personally, I think that we're transliterating a non roman alphabet into the roman alphabet, and it doesn't matter one way or the other. The reader gets the point either way.
That said, everytime I read 'taiyoukai' I think of taiyaki, and I get hungry. Mmmmm taiyaki (they're like fish shaped waffles filled with sweet bean jam, and they're AWESOME).
P.S. Kagome's shirt is the kanji "Inu". Heh.

Also, I agree with what you are saying about tai vs. dai, especially considering most of the time the difference tends to be based on regional dialect!
