Chained and Waiting by Jaidus

Chained and Waiting

She was sitting in the garden when he found her; 500 years ago she had told him that she would wait for him. Now here she was married to another man – her betrayal burned at his chest.

“How long did you wait?” his voice like ice but her response shocked him. She laughed, mocking, bitter with such venom he was sure it would poison any who heard.

“I waited. I still wait. The only reason I remain here is because of this!” She stood sharply revealing a thick chain shackled to her ankle.

Sesshoumaru didn’t hesitate and with a brief flash of claws the shackle was removed, he inspected her skin carefully – heavily bruised, rubbed raw, swollen and marred. He vowed vengeance then and there on whoever did this.

                “What happened?”

“You want me to stay here and tell you?”

“Yes,” a malicious grin formed on his face and Kagome immediately knew he wanted to wait for her ‘Husband’ – strangely she found the idea to her liking.

“When I returned from the past I buried myself in my schooling as a way to make the time go faster. I had much to make up for in all that I had missed during my time jumping. My mother grew increasingly upset over the fact I didn’t show any interest in men and after 6 years she took it into her own hands.” She paused and he watched in fascination as a satisfied grin spread over her face. “It took 5 men to over-power me and force me to the chapel. I gave four of them broken wrists, 3rd degree burns, several bite marks and the lead man-handler, can no longer father children.”

To say he was shocked was an understatement; he was already being berated by his beast who was smugly pointing out her strength at this.

“They spent four hours trying to force me to say the words; I got fed up with it so I bit my own tongue. Not enough to kill but enough for it to swell and render me mute for several days. I loved the look on his face.”

The Demon Lord decided then that this so called husband would die by his claws – the sword was too good for him.

“You know I’ve been called a demon bitch in this household? I’m chained out here for an hour each day before I’m locked back in my room – which is little more than a cell. Only once did he try and enter my chambers, only one did he try and ‘consummate’ the marriage and make it legally binding.” She laughed again in joyous rebellion and the Daiyoukai was reminded of why he waited for her. She was strong willed, fiery, rebellious, independent and loyal.

“No-one but my chosen may touch me in any way shape or form. I didn’t just burn him, I FLAYED him. From the tip up.” Her grin was evil, malicious and positively erotic, he was astounded that he could still feel her pure heart. He inhaled her scent and discovered much to his relief she was still untouched.

Her aura flared around her and reached for him but Sesshoumaru didn’t even flinch as it caressed him in a warm embrace and his youki responded in kind. While she had yet to physically touch him their auras washed over each other in an intimate dance of lovers long parted and finally reunited. Not only will this fool die by his claws – he will do it slowly.

“He still hasn’t fully recovered; the best part is they can’t punish me for it. None of those pathetic dicks know anything about Miko powers – they had thought them myths. So they just locked me up in the hopes that eventually I would give in from being isolated. HA! I spent 3 days locked in the darkness of the jewel – this is rather pleasant.”  She turned and locked her blue eyes on his amber ones, they danced with all the wild of the tropical storm. “and I knew you would come for me.”

“I am sorry it took me so long, your family refused to tell me where you were.”

“I’m betting my brother snuck out and told you.” He nodded, “I promised him I would return for him,”

“Thank you, My mother changed when I finally returned. More so when Grandfather died – I’m not sure she is all there to be honest but my brother he tried to help at first.”

“Kagome! What are you doing talking to this intruder!” Both Miko and Demon Lord growled at the human male who had walked into the garden. “You will step away from my wife and remove yourself from my property.”

Sesshoumaru’s grin was positively evil as he stared coldly at the male in front of him. His grin only grew even more when his mate-to-be addressed the man he joyous tone laced with venom as potent as his own.

“Hojo, glad your home. This is Sesshoumaru – you remember the demon lord I promised would bring you ten fold the torment you forced on me.” Hojo snorted and sneered at the Lord of the West who had yet to lift his human disguise. Kagome turned to Sesshoumaru and place a hand on his arm, a tender touch that Hojo instantly grew jealous of.

“Beloved, would you regain my honour?” the demon lord took her hand and lifted it to his lip, dropping the disguise to give the unlucky man time to fully comprehend his error.

“It would be my pleasure My Lady.” His now red eyes turned to the trembling human, claws lengthened and dripped poison onto the ground which quickly withered and died as he advanced. Hojo tried to turn and run but immediately crashed into the chest of the snarling Inu who grabbed him by the throat and lifted him into the air.

“You tried to take that which belongs to this Sesshoumaru.”

“wha..wha..what are you!?” it was barely gasped out as poisoned claws dug into flesh.

“I am Lord Sesshoumaru, Lord of the West, Alpha of the Silver Inu clan and Head of the House of the Moon. I am the Killing Perfection and betrothed to the Shikon Miko Kagome.”

By this point the searing pain that had started at his neck was slowly, agonisingly slowly crawling through his veins – it was not enough to render him unconscious but just enough to cause maddening pain. He had denied the knowledge that his ‘wife’ had used magical powers to burn the skin from his flesh despite the servants of the house insisting. Instead he had turned it round in his mind that she had somehow gotten a hold of flammable liquid. The pain of that was nothing, absolutely nothing compared to what this creature was doing. He had never believed any of the stories told to him by grandparents and ignored the warnings given to him by Kagome as she grew increasingly violent in her refusal to accept him. With effort he managed to open an eye and looked at Kagome – really seeing her for the first time as her aura danced around her, her face cold and impassive as she watched her mate-to-be defend her. At that point he knew she had been telling the truth and her promise to him echoed in his ears.

“My mate will come for me and when he does you will die in agony and despite how much I hate death I know it is the only way you will ever believe me and set me free.”

Sesshoumaru released the man from his grip and watched as the body twitched violently, bloodied froth evidence that the poison had begun to destroy his brain and that he had bit his tongue.

“Do you wish to leave?” he asked her quietly, she knew he was offering her a chance to run from this man’s last breath.

“No. I will stay and watch this to the end. I warned him, yet he did not listen.”

                “How many times did you try to escape?” she smiled and to his shock replied;

“At least once a day until they chained me here. Didn't matter that the guards were constantly there and would always catch me. Sometimes I managed to evade them for a few hours, most I got away was three days. I detest CCTV camaras.”

A rattling gurgle came from the bloodied and broken heap of flesh in front of them. Corrosive poison melting away flesh and bone, Kagome felt a brief pang of sympathy.

“You regret this?” A raised silver eyebrow was directed to his mate-to-be as he detected the saddness in her aura.

“I thought I would but no. I just feel sorry for those who have to clean it. Will any of them be affected from the poison? I don’t want an innocent to get hurt.”

“Fear not, as potent as my poison is, it is directed by my will. This will not affect anyone else and will breakdown into nothing once nothing remains of him.”

It took Hojo 20 more minutes to finally die, the poison keeping him alive long enough to feel every cell in his body die. His last conscious thought was that Hell would be a blessing from this torture.

“Come Koi, we shall retrieve your brother before we head home. Your Kit has missed you terribly and his mate wishes to see you again.”

“Tell me everything!” Picking her up bridal style Sesshoumaru walked with a chuckle to the awaiting car, leaving the household behind for good.

My first submitted fanfiction. I may have been excessively cruel to Hojo but someone had to play the part. Mwahahaha
