Disclaimer: I do not own Inuyasha!
Sitting at her desk on another boring day in busy Tokyo, twenty-three year old Kagome Higurashi got an idea. She was looking at the background on her computer, and realized, ‘Why am I sitting here dreaming of seeing the Statue of Liberty, when I could actually see it, and New York?’
She sat up from her leaning position and thought, ‘Yeah, I have enough money saved up; I could travel the world, starting with New York!’
She jumped up out of her seat, and grabbed her cell phone and car keys, ‘I’m going to New York.’
She quickly left the office, the whole elevator ride down to the parking garage she couldn’t stop smiling. Her dream of traveling the world was finally coming true. She had always wanted to, but she had always been too wrapped up in work, and school. Now, she wasn’t going to let anything stand in her way.
Climbing into her car, she hurried to her house to pack.
& 4 Hours Later&
After two hours of packing, a thirty minute taxi ride to the airport, and an hour and a half waiting for the plane, Kagome sighed in content. She leaned her head against the airplane window and watched the fluffy white clouds as the plane cut through them.
When she was younger she used to think the clouds were cotton candy. She’d even asked her mother how airplanes and birds were able to fly them without becoming all sticky.
‘I wonder what New York is like.’ She had never been there because when her class had taken the field trip there she had been sick and couldn’t get out of bed. She had always envied her friends, because while they chatted happily about all they had seen she sat there clueless.
‘Not anymore, now I’m going.’
Deciding to listen to music and read for the rest of the flight, Kagome pulled out her Ipod from her carry-on and her book. Plugging the earphones in she listened to music and read for the rest of the flight.
Hours later the plane touched down in the airport in New York City. Stepping off the plane and claiming her baggage, Kagome headed out of the airport in search of a taxi.
She smiled to herself, it was official, she had left Tokyo for New York City! She wondered if getting a taxi was anything like they said it was on t.v. Deciding to test her theory, she raised her hand high and shook it slightly.
Her eyes widened and her brows shot up into her hairline in surprise, it worked! Grinning happily, she entered the car and told the driver, “Please take me to the best hotel in New York City.”
The driver, a man with black hair and brown eyes, raised his eyebrow at her, but obliged. Twenty minutes later Kagome found herself in front of a gorgeous hotel with a view of the ocean.
“This place is amazing.” She whispered in awe.
The hotel was gold with a red awning that read “Palace of Luxury” in fancy golden script. A bellhop hurried over and opened her door, she stepped out still staring at the luxurious hotel, but was snapped out of it by the taxi driver.
“Miss, your change.”
Still slightly dazed she accepted it and tried to help the bellhop load her luggage on to the luggage cart, but he would not let her. Shrugging she followed him inside as she walked up to the front desk.
The woman at the desk smiled and said, “Hello welcome to Palace of Luxury, how may I help you?” in a cheerful tone.
Kagome smiled and replied, “Hi, my name is Kagome Higurashi and I wanted to know if you had any rooms available.”
“Let me see, one moment.” The receptionist began to type in things on her computer and after a minute turned back to Kagome, “You are in luck Ms. Higurashi. A room is open, but it is very expensive.”
Kagome bit her lip, “How much?” She asked.
“$795 a night, it is the royal suite.”
‘Well, I don’t know… oh what the heck, splurge a little!’
Kagome smiled up at the lady, “That’s fine, can you book it for a week please?”
Nodding the woman began to type away again. After a moment she grabbed a key card and handed it to Kagome “Suit, 707, top floor.”
Nodding with a smile Kagome walked to the elevator with the bellhop following with her luggage.
“Here we are miss.” He said as he stopped in front of a door marked ‘707’ inside a crown. “The royal suite.” He opened the door with a flourish and Kagome gasped in surprise.
A crystal chandelier hung from the ceiling, a flat screen t.v was hanging on a wall with a sound system surrounding it. A door off to the side showed a canopied king size bed along with a connected bathroom.
The bellhop set her things down and spoke, “Miss you might like to go to the ball room dance this evening. It will take place at 7:00pm this evening and will last until midnight. It of course is in the ballroom.”
Kagome nodded, “Thank you for letting me know.”
The bellhop bowed and left. Glancing at the clock, she saw that it was 5:30pm. She decided to start unpacking.
An hour later at 6:30 she looked around, she had finished packing, now she had nothing left to do. Then, she remembered what the bellhop had said about the dance a 7:00pm.
She bit her lip in thought, ‘I don’t know, should I go? No, I can’t I don’t know anybody. Well, maybe this would be the perfect chance to meet new people. But what if some perv tries to pick up on me?’ Then, she made her decision, ‘I am a Tokyo girl in New York City it’s time to live a little!’
That’s all for this chapter. :) Please, don’t be harsh with reviews, I’m new here this is my first fic, and I’m only 13. So I know, you might think this sucks, but please don’t be too harsh. Review.
