Kagome shivered as she cranked the heater up of her Mustang GT. She loved living in New York due to the fact it snowed every winter but hated the cold with a passion. Peering through the windshield, she watched the graying skies above. The weather man had been promising snow all day but a single flake had yet to fall. Sighing she put the car into reverse and eased out into traffic.  Glancing down at the paper clenched in her glove covered hand she checked the to make sure she was headed in the right direction. Satisfied that she was she switched on her blinker so she could head down Rowen Street.

Her boss, Kaden Ross, had surpirised her with the little sticky note on her desk declaring she had an interview at twelve o'clock sharp at the Alexandria restaurant. Kaden had gone through all the trouble of getting Kagome a nice cocktail dress for her to wear as well as paying for her hair, makeup and nails to be done.

"You can keep the dress when the interview is over," He had said as he handed her a small tape recorder before she had left. Her nerves were making her shiver more so than the cold. What if she screwed up and did or asked something wrong?

Spotting the restaurant in all its spectacular glory, she sighed and check her appearance in the rearview mirror one last time before easing into the circular drive and letting the valet man open the door for her and help her out. Taking a deep well needed breath she strode over to the doors of the restaurant where her would-be prey waited inside. Ice spiders ran down her spine and her stomach was doing back flips while her heart pounded in her chest. Oh how she hoped she didn't screw up. One simple mistake and that could be the end of her career as a reporter, writer, or heck anything else she may have wanted to do!

Taking a deep breath she told receptionist what the name of the party was and she quickly lead her to the back of the  restaurant and up a small flight of stairs. Once at the top Kagome realized that there was only one table up here and two chairs. One was occupied by a very tall man whose back was to her. His long white hair looked as if it had been spun from silver the dim light caught and reflected. She knew who it was despite not having been told by a cheery Kaden.

The riches man in all of the world just about. Owner of the world's largest marketing business in the world. Sesshoumaru Taishu. There were all kinds of stories about him. Some said he hated humans with such a passion that he wouldn't even giving a human lawyer or market manager a second glance when they started talking. Others said he had been close to a human girl back in the feudal era in Japan, but no one knew for sure. The fact that Kagome was being giving the chance to ask all the questions and interview this living relic was an amazing honor.

"Are you just going to stand there or what, human?" His deep voice said as he leaned back in his seat and stretched slightly. Quickly as to not irritate him any more she walked over to the table and bowed to him before sitting down. She didn't say anything or look at him. Who knew how humans were supposed to act around such a powerful demon. He could cut her head off with just a mere flick of his wrist if he so wanted to.

"Look at me," He commanded. Slowly she looked up into the most beautiful set of eyes she had ever seen in her life. It was like looking into melted gold. The heat that could be seen there made her swallow thickly and her palms sweat. Nervously she twirled the silver ring around her middle finger on her left hand. The sapphire and twin onyx gems caught the glimmer of light that reached under the table. Trying her hardest to focus on his face she noticed that he wasn't hiding his demonic features from the world like so many other Oni did. His cheeks were marked by two red stripes just below his hypnotic eyes and a blue crescent moon marked his forehead. His smooth perfect skin bared no blemishes from accidents or fights.

A shiver traveled up her spine again. Why was he looking at her like that? Like she was a horse at the auction block, instead of an intelligent business woman?
