Punctuality
A Note of Explanation: This story was hatched for the sole purpose of having a new plot thread to play with for Dokuga’s monthly drabble/drawble chat nights. ::scowls fondly in Priestess Skye’s general direction:: It’s another story in wee bits (like Impeccable), but this time I’m not promising regular updates. This is me goofing off. ::amiable shrug::
Disclaimer: I do hereby disclaim all rights and responsibilities for the characters in this bit of fun with funny bits... especially for the one who looks like an unmade bed. A nod of recognition is bent towards Rumiko Takahashi for her creative prowess.
Chapter 1: Punctuality
It was far too early on a Saturday for the doorbell to ring. Kagome squinted blearily at her clock—nine on the dot. “Whoever it is, they’re punctual,” she grumbled as she struggled out of tangled sheets. Stumbling to the door, she checked the peephole. On the front step stood a tall, silver-haired youkai in a tailored suit. Curious, she opened the door. “Erm… yes?”
Golden eyes swept her critically. “I see I have the right place.”
“Excuse me?”
“Kagome Higurashi?”
“Y-yes...?”
“I’ll be making an assessment,” he announced.
“Like... for the insurance company?” she asked uncertainly.
“No... for your mother.”
