Sesshou-Maru and the Laser

Originally, she had brought it for amusement with Kirara. After all, Buyo was a normal cat and with it, it was the most movement he ever really made. Kirara was a demon kitty. Oodles of fun could be had!

It was a wonderful discovery, then, that Inu-Yasha was enthralled as well. So much more enthralled than Kirara, in fact, that the cat sat back with the rest of them just to watch the hanyou flit about trying to catch it.

Everyone in the group was quick to agree: that laser was AWESOME!

Until…

Kagome was laughing as she watched Inu-Yasha running in circles frantically, exclaiming about the little red light he couldn’t catch, when it happened. A really hot, rather moist breeze passed over her, smelling distinctly of dog breath.

Her body frozen, Kagome and the others looked up slowly. All of them gasped loudly at the sight of a massive, red-eyed dog with a crescent moon on its forehead.

Sesshou-Maru.

Miroku and Sango didn’t seem to know what to do, the only movement coming from Shippou as he ‘eeped’ and hid behind a thunderstruck Kagome. The miko twitched nervously. The laser in her hand twitched too, sending the little red light bolting across the clearing. Immediately, Sesshou-Maru was after it, biting and scratching at the dot.

Kagome’s mouth twitched, and she moved the laser’s light. Sesshou-Maru was on it in seconds, gouging deep gashes in the ground as he tried to catch the mysteriously uncatchable dot. Kagome giggled and began her little game with the massive daiyoukai.

Very soon the whole group was laughing hysterically as Kagome flicked the light back and forth, up and down, and in circles, making the frightening youkai whirl around and dance. She made him jump, trot, roll, and pounce, each action sending the group into peals of laughter. The clearing was destroyed, and yet it made it so much more fun to find new hiding spots for the youkai to find the dot in.

Who knew a simple laser could fell the great and terrible Sesshou-Maru.
