The Angel of Time by cloud
Duck Duck Goose
Duck, Duck, Goose
"Who is that?"
Inutaisho turned to see his mate standing beside him. Her face was as impassive as ever, but her eyes held the slightest glint of concern. "I do not know," he murmured as he turned back to the sight before him.
Even as a five year old his son, Sesshomaru, did not play. He spent his free time walking the gardens or practicing hunting, but here he was. Laughing and smiling, he chased another boy around and around. They circled each other like prey, but their laughter filled the garden air.
The other boy was probably a year or two older, but he laughed with an abandon that Sesshomaru just didn`t have. He had bright blue eyes like a winter morning. A strange color for an inuyoukai, and he bore the silver hair only seen in the royal family. "Catch me if you can," he called to Sesshomaru as he dodged another leap from the boy.
Inutaisho was surprised to see that the boy, even older, was much faster than his son. He moved with a grace and careful swiftness. 'He knows he is much faster,' Inutaisho realized as he watched them. The boy moved only fast enough to keep the game going, but not so fast as to discourage Sesshomaru. 'How odd,' he thought knowing that Sesshomaru was the fastest child in the Shiro even at his young age.
To curious to resist, Inutaisho stepped from the porch. Instantly the boys stopped and looked at him.
Sesshomaru turned solum, "Father."
"Its time for your lessons," Inutaisho said. Sesshomaru took a second to look back at the other boy, a look more telling that words could ever be, then he ran inside to his lessons.
"Hello, what is your name?" Inutaisho greeted as he walked up to the blue-eyed pup.
"Tenshi," the boy answered as he looked up at the much taller male.
'Strange name,' he thought as he took in the boy`s stance. He was curious and excited, not afraid of standing in front of the terrible dog general of the west. He looked him in the eye, a challenge that was disrespectful even from a pup, but Inutaisho did not feel the urge to correct him as he would have even to Sesshomaru. In fact his entire body and mind had gone into a state of relax. Even the simmering inferno of his power had disappeared.
"I have to go home now too. Daddy and mommy will worry," Tenshi said as he lifted his head back a little more to look at the other. As he did his bangs fell to the side to reveal the trademark blue, crescent moon of his mate`s bloodline.
Inutaisho had turned to ask his mate how this pup bore her mark when he heard it.
"Bye Ojii-san," Tenshi called cheerfully, and suddenly there was a surge of power that disappeared as quickly as it appeared.
Inutaisho turned to find the boy gone, like a whisper in the wind.
(Ojii-san means Grandpa, Tenshi means Angel)
