Your story certainly does draw multiple reactions from me. I can understand where her family come from and why they believe they were justified in doing this to Kagome. At the same time, I greatly sympathize with Kagome and feel what her family did was underhanded. Of course I don't agree with her wallowing in sorrow, but to me it seems as though her family no longer wanted to deal with her problems and passed her off to someone else to deal with. Really, I do think what Kagome needs is time. What I've learned is that you can help people notice that there's more to life, but you can't force them go out and experience it. A person will grow when they are physically and mentally ready using what you have taught. But it's unrealistic to force a person to use the lessons you taught when you want to (which is what everyone is trying to do to Kagome).

I'm really intrigued by this story as I usually don't respond to the characters in the way that your story is provoking in me. I have to admit that I really don't like Sesshoumaru here (that's not to say I don't like the story or the way you have constructed him because I think he's very believable) and Kagome's family repulses me. I find myself wishing that Kagome would tell them all to bugger off-no one has really attempted to understand her pain and sorrow. By forcing her into this situation, they are just making her depression worse. I'm eagerly looking forward to the rest of the story.

Oh this chapter was fantastic!!! I deeply and truly wish for Kagome to get out of her funk, but I also understand what she is dealing with. And I just wanna slap her momma back!!! lol Wonderfully written--as always where you are concerned--and I look forward to reading more.
