I'm going to admit I was slightly confused about how you meant her reaction to Shippo's empty left hand.....She sighed inwardly, but was it with relief, was she finding herself silly to even think it, Did she want him to be, or was she fairly nuetral about it?

What was on Naraku's hand then? Poor Kagome, all confused and misled.

Welcome back after your long absence!  Thank you for starting the story and you are off to a great start!  Being that it is only the first chapter and I DO like it, I will comment on future chapters as I go along.

I like the idea of your story but I had trouble reading in honestly... you need to space it out; a seperate line for each time someone speaks and make noticeable paragraphs.  Also I think maybe the whole 'red string of fate' thing shouldn't be discussed in class then she see it.  That's WAY too cliche'... maybe she chould see it, go back in the past and have someone explain it after she mentions it or even if she remembers it as a story told to her as a kid. 

Besides it being a little crowded and tacky I rather like the concept and If you fix it up a tiny bit and let your imagination run rampant you will without a doubt have a fantastic story!
