That was very surprising; I did not expect that. =)) But of course Sesshoumaru cheated on her, and of course it had to be Sango. I've been seeing too much Inuyasha- and Kikyou-bashing whenever I'd read SessKag fanfiction.

Although...did it really have to be Naraku? That guy gives me the creeps sometimes. (No offense to Naraku/Kagome shippers and the like.)

It's also very odd that your story was found on a SessKag site =)) Ah, well. Very original.

Finally someone has the sense to write a story were Kagome doesn´t forgive Sesshoumaru everything he does to her and just forgives and forgets as if nothing bad has happened. It´s scary how many female authors portray a modern woman as a doormat with no will, self-worth/respect and no intelligence at all. Love is nothing without trust and respect and many young girls don´t understand that at all. I´m so glad you made Kagome a mature woman who did the right thing and was rewarded with a true love even if it was with Naraku (he´s not my favourite, I would have prefered Kouga).

I also think that many writers portray Kagome so forgiving/stupid because they misinterpred how she was with Inuyasha. They seem to forget that they never were an official pairing so what was she to do? She wasn´t his girlfriend so she could tell him to stop seeing Kikyou, you can´t tell someone to stop having feelings for someone else and she wasn´t sure what would happen when the quest was over. She did the right thing in staying and finishing the quest and being his friend above everything else. Sure, she knew she would be hurt by staying but she wanted Inuyasha to be happy and it was her duty to complete the jewel.

That is pretty mature for a girl her age and that´s why I believe that your portrayal of her in this story is fitting. She is not bound to some duty and seems to have a normal relationship with Sesshoumaru (without an undead ex-girlfriend). After Sesshoumaru fucked up she left and chose her own happiness. Many seem to forget that Inuyasha was in a difficult situation, too. He couldn´t stop any of the things that happened any more than Kagome or even Kikyou could. But here Sesshoumaru just chose to cheat on his girlfriend, never mind that it was with her supposedly best friend. He´s just a lieing and cheating bastard. But karma came to a full circle as it seems that his bitch seems to have cheated on him, too. I wish you would have added his thoughts into the story and what happens to Sango too as it seems that she didn´t pay for what she did to Kagome. Think of a secend chapter please? Just to show Sesshoumaru and his bitch that Kagome is happy and that they got what they deserved.

that's sad, poor Kagome :( I don't like the whole, Naraku thing, but that's just because I don't really like Naraku (sorry) Good job though :) It was a great story :)

I have to say even though this was a short story I am happy to read it, I am glad that Kagome excuse the expression, has the balls to leave, and not go crawling back to Sesshomaru like some weak minded woman, in some stories I have read, I mean, in a way I hate thoses stories, it almost seems that she has no mind of her own and is a weak woman that can take a man back after cheating and stuff. hell no i don't like thoses stories at all, but in a way, that is her character, she forgave inuyasha after time and time again he has seen kikyo and i just don't get it, but i am glad that you did this, it is fresh and amazing, yes it was a Sesshomaru and kags story for the start but then it became a kags and Naraku, and that i like, i love it, I am not in favor of kags and N but it works with your story.

Amazing story, now we saw how strong kags can be.
