I like the story so far!  Kagome's financial difficulties and Sesshoumaru's arrival as the commissioner with a reputation reminds me of Scarlett and Rhett (this is meant as a compliment as I adore GWTW) and I think there are a lot of potential directions you could take this story in. Considering how amazing The Second Journey and its sequel are, I am sure it will be fun to read.
