I have to agree with the other reviewer, her cutting off her hair instead of killing herself is so much more like the real Kagome. She might not know how to fight besides using her bow, but when it comes to inner strength no one can compare to her. The strength of her heart, will and determination has always been her greatest weapon.

Look at the fighters, Inuyasha and Sango are always the ones who fall into some kind of traps, have the most emotional baggage and need other people to make them happy. Miroku and Kagome, the spiritual fighters have their own problems but don´t burden others with them, help others as much as they can and still have the strength to smile and are simply kind to others because they chose to be. Did Miroku suffer less than Sango? No, he doesn´t has anyone either besides Mushin and he lives with a hole in his hand which will end his life if they can´t kill Naraku. And Inuyasha? He did suffer from early childhood but the same goes for Jinenji only Jinenji doesn´t have it in him to be cruel to anyone especially to someone who he would call friend. Inuyasha doesn´t want to move on from Kikyou and put her on a pedestral as if she did no wrong but the real cruel thing he does is how he treats Kagome. He should have told her from the beginning that he wants Kikyou and not strung her along or chasing off other males who really want her. That is why I can´t stand him, he wants both but would chose Kikyou if he had to chose. Damn immature male, he really is still a young boy. Sorry for the long review.
