*does little jiggly dance around the room*
UPDATE!! YAY!!! I was so happy to see this, I started grinning like an idiot to myself on the train. Probably seemed creepy to my fellow train commuters.
Ahh. I like the visual images you have painted with your words, my dear - the 'sight' of Kou, looking all jaded and no longer being able to be surprised by life itself, contrasting starkly with Sesshoumaru, who is inquisitive yet trying to come across as aloof, is amazing. Throw in the kettle, and the reader's mind conjures up the crackling of fire and the smells and hear of burning wood...that all comes together to make a very nice vivid scene. Fitting for the movie screen, I'd say. Lovely job there!
This chapter came with a tinge of melancholy - it is obvious to everyone by now that Kagome and Sesshoumaru's budding love is somewhat cursed from the beginning due to their differences. Sesshoumaru's instincts clash head on with his emotions, and the greatest way to love and cherish Kagome would be to leave her alone. That's just sad. I loved how you described his initial feelings towards Kou's words - Sesshoumaru did not mentally scream, 'No I won't leave Kagome' or whatsoever. Instead, it was a very realistic 'vexing emptiness'. No loud declarations or instantaneous determination - just a silent acknowledgement of what was inevitable yet completely undesirable. Such awesome writing, really. *claps*
Now comes the bigger problem - Kagome's dilemma. It's not as if I think of Kagome as weaker than Sesshoumaru. In fact, I tend to think of her as being emotionally stronger. It's precisely because of that, that she would have the tendency to put her famiy and loved ones in first place and in turn, hurt Sesshoumaru. It's already been a huge leap for him to say those words to her, so it'll be tragic to see him crushed. I am glad she chose to speak to him, even though she didn't have any grand ideas on how to go about solving the issue. She threw the question directly back at him, but that beats remaining silent, I guess.
Then came the visual goodies which left me rather hot and bothered LOL. *fans self* The part about the nicked lip was strangely erotic yet so saddening because we witnessed how Sesshoumaru's basal instincts responded to the blood. His thoughts were right - what exactly was he thinking? The answer is pretty obvious, and it only makes things sadder! :( it totally doesn't help that Kikyou is suspecting something - for the first time, I find her cleverness annoying. Please let Kagome and Sesshoumaru be together!
Sorry for spamming your review page with this long one - but OMG I have so much to say on this.
OMG an update!!! *squeals* I haven't read this story in so long, but once I started on the latest chapter, everything just came back to me like scenes from a good ol' movie.
The other chapters were all good and enjoyable, but this one was WOW!! All that sexual tension in the air between the two of them was threatening to burn my laptop screen up, and can we all say 'sizzling hot'?? OMG. *fans self* Sesshoumaru was very well-portrayed here in this chapter - somehow people have this tendency to portray him as the super sex god who gets into the ladies' skirts really, really quickly. He is, for the lack of a better word, always so...forward in terms of his advances. Yet in this chapter, you portrayed him as an eager but yet the same time, somehow reserved lover. I love the feeling it gives the reader - there leaves a lot of room for anticipation, and not WHAM!-There goes-Poof-Lemon over-lets-go-to-the-next chapter-feeling.
It was very well done, and you should be proud of yourself! I enjoyed it so thoroughly. And that dream of his...*hyperventilates* Hot, yes, but so dark at the same time. It's like, the repercussions of loving the Devil himself. You do it, and get hurt in the process. I think that is what Kagome is going to face later in the story - her love for the demon is going to give her more problems than she had ever bargained for, but it will all work out well eventually for our favorite couple!
...I hope.
I really hope.
Till the next chapter, take care, my dear!! :) Speak soon!! Miss you lots <3

I really like this fic. I like the way the relationship unfolds slowly and unrushed allowing innocent feelings to develop into something more over time.
