Interesting story. Few fanfics usually tackle police procedurals.
Are you a lab tech? I cover real crime so I deal with cops, the coroner and firefighters a lot.
You are right. A broken hyoid bone is the usual indication of strangulation along with petechial hemorrhages in the eyes. But there have been cases of strangulation where the hyoid bone was not broken.
It's also true that breast implants have serial numbers. I'm familiar with liquid fillers that are injected into plastic surgery patients. Were you referring to cheek implants perhaps?
Minor quibble. Toxicology test results are usually not available the same day. Even a red ball case or a case where there is a named suspect or a case involving someone famous may take several days.
In my area, you usually wait between six to eight weeks to get toxicology results for cases that do not fall under the criteria I mentioned earlier.
Was Kagome joking when she told Miroku she has a brilliant mind? If not, why is she acting so arrogant? Tsk tsk Kagome.
Very interesting chapter.
A couple of things popped in my head like; Hojo's name came up which had me wondering if he may possibly be the killer and then I began to wonder if Sesshomaru was secretly in love with Kagome and that is what made him an easy target. My scenario was that Kagome knew Sesshomaru on a professional level but did not know of his feelings for her; then when Kagura came along looking like the spitting image of Kagome he could not be believe his luck when the fake Kagome made her interest in him known...Sess fell deeply in love with whom he thought was his Kagome which is what the killer was counting on.
I think Koga may be the next target based on his cheating ways. He may get set up the way Sess did. I maybe way out in left field here but that is what popped in my head. lol :)
Looking forward to more exciting chapters soon so just keep them coming. :)
Wonderful story, wonderful job!!!
