"I wanna watch the ball drop, though!" Kagome whined, struggling to take the remote from the taiyoukai, who sat directly behind her with his legs wrapped around them.

"You're tired. Humans need sleep, I've been told." He chuckled, letting her believe she actually had a chance in winning the remote from his hands.

"I'm not a human though! I'm a superhero, duh. So that means I don't need to go to bed until they drop the ball!" She tried, hoping he would have some sort of sympathy for her and let her watch the movie.

"Hn, perhaps you have had too much of this... popcorn. It is getting to your head."

"Nu-uh, you're just jealous 'cause I'm stronger than you!" She half-nodded, her eyes closing slightly.

"You are asleep." He noted, wrapping his moko-moko around them as she continued to nod off in his arms.

"Nrmm...Just...resting my eyes..." She snored, her grip lessening on the remote as popcorn fell from her lap and on the floor in front of her.

Sesshomaru smiled and put a hand to her head, entangling his hands in her raven tresses while she snored lightly in his arms.

"3...2...1.... Happy new year!" Came the voice of millions as the program on the T.V. roared, causing Kagome to open her eyes slightly.

"Mrrrm...Sesshy-maru..." She cooed, curling into his fur as it wrapped itself around them.

Sesshomaru felt his heart lighten as revelation of his love for the tiny miko in his arms became clear.

He could feel that this year would be far better than all the previous ones combined.
