Kagome knelt before the injured demon Lord. His icy glare settled on her, the inanimate orbs probing her mercilessly. His gaze was predatory and eerily empty - it was a frightening thing to be subjected to. The miko hesitantly leaned forward. The gorgeous daiyoukai watched her keenly, his pale face stony. Her nervous stare fixed on the smooth, flawless chest of the dog demon, she reached out and settled her palm against his surprisingly hot skin that was deliciously silky.

Thump. Thump.

Her blue eyes widened. Then a small smile tugged at her lips. She looked up at the silent inu youkai and blushed.

"You have a heart, Sesshoumaru, no matter how much you try and deny it. It beats underneath my hand." She laid her other hand over her own beating heart while keeping the same one on his.

"We both have a heart and we both can feel. You might not want to or like it, but beneath that icy exterior, I know there is someone who cares." She stated.

His gold eyes regarded her, their freezing depths flickering with a dangerous light. He then looked away from her and glared at the bush near by, his perfectly sculpted jaw clenched.

"I feel nothing, girl. Emotion is for the weak and is a human flaw. Do not compare this one to your inferior race. Such a disgrace will not be tolerated again." He retorted coldly.
