Even as she sat there holding onto his blood splattered sash the news still hadn't sunk in.
When she finally started to comprehend what the soldier had told her, it was as though the world had suddenly become a dark and dreary place. Even the skies began to cry as the first of many tears fell from her once bright azure eyes. She fell to the ground, soaking her formerly pristine kimono, and continued to stare at the bloodied sash. The whole time Kagome had only one thought going through her mind, the last words her mate had said to her before he headed off for the battle.
