i tried only to pick japanese characters that have some qualities of IY characters:

SESSHOMARU - ABEL NIGHTROAD (Trinity Blood){they have hte same sexy silver hair}
KAGOME - SAILOR MARS (Sailor Moon){OMG in the manga they look soo alike}
INUYASHA - YOKO KURAMA (YuYu Hakusho){little doggie ears}
KIKYO - A MUMMY (Scooby Doo {it was created by a japanese =P}){pff! they're walking corpses}
SANGO - AKANE TENDO (Ramna 1/2){same hair and attitude}
MIROKU - SPEED RACER (Speed Racer){well for this one the helmet was veery important}
SHIPPO - PIKACHU (Pokemon){they're soo cute}
RIN - ARALE =D(Dr.Slump){they're very cute}
JAKEN - AANG (Avatar{ well sort of an anime }){they're bald}

I'm sure Kagome's loving the even shorter skirt of a Sailor Scout. I always considered Sesshoumaru and Yokou to be more similar though, but Inuyasha does have the ears.
