I've always found it amusing that Sesshomaru never really cared about the jewel in and of itself. Sure, he kinda had a side-deal going on with Naraku for a bit where he used a shard, but that was just to get back at Inuyasha. I always thought it would have been a great twist if he ended up with it anyway. :D There are some good fanfics where he does, and even then he really doesn't want it, lol.
