Without Hope
Picture information
Description:
Inspired by Forthright's "Unspoiled"...I believe it is Chapter 67 Sleep Tight.
Sesshoumaru mentions that Shippo was better off than he was when Kagome disappeared because at least the fox had hope whereas he had none. Being a mom, the thought of any kid being that sad tugs at my heartstrings.
I don't know if you can see it, but behind the nintoujou is the button Sesshoumaru saved. This is kind of a contemplative moment when he is alone with Ah-Un, to ponder the mystery of why his two companions had to leave.
I have to say, while I love Forthright's work, I am always hesitant to draw something because I feel like I can't give her words justice. (Yes, I am my own worst critic, but I think most of us are.) However, I was in the mood to draw and before I knew it, this is where my scribbles led me.

Then I am happy! And I have to agree, I like the way Ah-Un turned out and this was the first time I ever drew the lovable, two headed dragon. If there was a next scene, they would be hugging him the way they did Kagome.
