A contract was made, binding two together under platonic circumstances. Attaining the sacred Shikon Jewel would give the Ice Master honor and power. However, as it turns out, the jewel is inside a girl, making it necessary to keep her with him. All Kagome wants is to be able to keep the jewel away from the wrong hands, however, she feels she is not powerful enough yet to protect the Shikon jewel on her own yet. Sesshomaru will protect the jewel at all costs, Kagome will feel relieved she is in good hands, along with the jewel. But maybe, Sesshomaru just doesn't want to protect the jewel, maybe he also wants to protect the owner of it.
