Description:

I've trying to perfect the art of drawing other ethnicities besides my own, and it's harder than it seems! I know that this is a really common problem for artists to have, but I feel like I've made a little progress. Some one pointed out that my last drawing of Sesshomaru looked Caucasian, and they were totally right, so I'm trying to work on both that and one of my other artistic weaknesses...emotion. So he looks more annoyed than usual, right? haha I hope you enjoy! A two-day sketch.

I dunno if you want a critique or not, so i wont post one unless I'm asked. That being said, i think you did a wonderful job with this work. The shading is really done amazingly. People who do not work in pencil often do not know how temperamental it can be. like all art mediums it has its own quarks. Your braver then i am to work with it because i HATE smudges on my work, makes me crazy. All that said, I really like this. well done.

Honestly I'm not really looking for a critique, I'm just doing my art in here for a bit of fun to challenge my rendering skills, but I'm not opposed to one either! And thank you!

Thank you so much! I'm glad you like it :) his pupils are supposed to be cat like, but the drawing is only about 3 inches high so my marker kind of ate that detail.

The shading around the nose is a little too dark and unbalances the drawing. Other than that its a very lovely drawing :)

I do that type of shading around the nose as a stylistic choice (you'll notice it on all my other pictures too), although I was wondering if it was too heavy-handed on this piece. Also, I did have a little trouble scanning this piece and it didn't come out as soft as it did in person, so that made it stand out too...but basically yes, I think you might be right about that!
