Pouncing!

Well, here is another story that I hope you all like. As a fair warning, the characters are VERY OOC, especially Sesshomaru. This story is actually a rewrite of a story I had posted on another site a few years ago. 

I got the idea from The Lion King - BUT! It has my own elements and does NOT follow the exact story line of The Lion King. Again, I hope you like it and please review!

I do not own anything Inuyasha or Co or anything Disney. :P

The sun peaked over the edge of great field and began illuminating a large, beautiful palace that rested against a mountain. As the mountains turned purple in the sun light, the palace stood out with a calming marble look. Before the palace laid a peaceful garden where two inu pups played.

One inu pup had long silver hair and curious amber eyes. His skin was pale, making the two maroon stripes on his cheeks and the periwinkle crescent moon on his forehead stand out. Behind him, a short fluffy white tail ticked side to side, showing irritation.

The second inu pup had wavy ink colored hair that came to her shoulders. Her eyes were bright crystal blue with dark black lashes that framed her eyes. Her skin was more tan with silver stripes on her cheeks. Her small black tail was fluffy as well, but wagged playfully.

"You can't get me!" The black inu pup ran from the silver haired pup, "Come on, Sesshomaru, you're becoming no fun."

The silver inu's eyes narrowed and he picked up speed and tackled the black haired inu. In mid-air, they twisted and she landed on her back with him on top of her. He smirked down at her, but it faded when she grinned widely and flipped them over and the silver pup let out the air in his lungs as he landed on his back.

He growled his puppy growl, but it ended sharply as she smiled softly, "Oh, Sesshomaru, you'll get me some day." With that she licked the tip of his nose and climbed off of him.

"Prince Sesshomaru! Lady Kagome!" A squawky voice yelled, and the two pups looked to see a small green imp running towards them, "Your parents have commanded you to go clean up for the council meeting for the people of the lands."

Kagome tilted her head, then looked down at Sesshomaru, who had his narrowed eyes fixed on the imp, "I'll see you inside, Sesshomaru."

He sat up on his elbows and watched as she walked away with the imp scolding her for her attire along the way. He rolled his eyes and stood up to follow. He sniffed and his nose scrunched up as he looked down at his now dirty clothes; he needed to bathe and change before being in front of his parents.

Entering the palace, he walked the halls and looked up at the paintings as he passed them. Each one of the youkai in the paintings were his ancestors; great and powerful leaders. He would be one when he was older and this excited him. 

On the other side of the hall, opposite of the males, were the mates of the leaders. He scrunched up his nose at this; he didn't think he needed a female by his side to rule his lands. But his father always said that a female help distract you from the stresses.

Reaching a door, he opened it and walked in. In the middle of the room was a large futon with plush pillows on it. Off to the side of the room was another door that he opened, and steam rolled out showing a hot spring. He stripped and got into the water to clean himself from the earlier activities. Thinking back, he grimaced; he really needed to work on his pouncing abilities. If he was ever going to rule the Western lands one day, he had to prove to be a powerful warrior and leader to do so.

He then smirked as he thought about his best friend. She, as his parents said, was his betrothed. Whatever that meant. They had been around each other since he could remember. She was the daughter of his father's advisor who was a powerful black inu. They were born only weeks apart and were raised in the same nursery.

A knock sounded on the door and he could hear the imp's annoying voice, "Prince Sesshomaru, your father wishes for you to hurry and go to the throne room."

Grumbling, he finished bathing and dressed in a new outfit, then ran his claws through his wet hair in the mirror. Once he figured he was ready, he left his room and made his way down the hall. He came upon double doors with two large inus growling at each other on each door. A guard opened the door and Sesshomaru walked through and looked around.

Sesshomaru walked to the man sitting in a large throne and bowed, "Father."

"You must use hast next time, Sesshomaru. You are nearly late." His father's voice was deep, yet kind.

His father, whom Sesshomaru looked very much like, had long silver hair that he had currently held up in a leather tie. His eyes were a fierce gold and he held the no blue moon as Sesshomaru did. On his cheeks was a blue stripe that ended at his ears. He wore bulky bone armor over his shoulders and chest and his tail was over the back of it, splitting into two at the end.

"I got caught up with Lady Kagome, father. I apologize." Sesshomaru turned then to bow to the woman that sit next to his father on a smaller throne, "Mother."

His mother also had long silver hair that was held up, but on each side of her head and higher than his father's. She had dark golden eyes and upon her forehead was the blue moon. On her cheeks was the same colored stripes that Sesshomaru had, but smaller and more zig-zagged shaped.

"Good morning, puppy." She gave him a soft smile.

Kneeling by his father on a plush pillow, was a black inu. He had long black hair that was loose from and ties. His eyes were a deep purple-blue color and on his cheeks were three silver stripes.

Behind him and to the side was his friend Kagome, who gave him a small smile when their eyes came in contact, "Prince Sesshomaru."

"I believe we are past formalities, Kagome." Sesshomaru told her softly.

"I will not disrespect you." She bowed, "Besides, we are in public and I want to make my father look good."

The black inu looked back and nodded, "Good girl." He looked at Sesshomaru and bowed as well, "Though I am glad you and my daughter get along as well as you do."

"Of course, Master Higurashi." Sesshomaru then proceeded to take his seat next to his mother.

The doors in the back of the room opened a few people filed in followed by guards. Sesshomaru scanned these newcomers and his brows furrowed slightly. Some of these people seemed to be reoccurring and wanting of thing that they did not need. Heaving a mental sigh, he prepared for the long session of lord counseling.
