Unexpected Mates

                              Kagome and Sesshomaru were mates. They were madly in love.  Kagome and her pack had moved into the Palace of the Moon  when Sesshomaru annouced that he was courting her. They had mated about three months ago. Kagome had been in the Feudal Era for six years now.  Shippo had finally matured into an adult yokai while they were still fighting Naraku. Shippo decided that it was finally time for his mother to meet his mate.

                               “Mama, you remember Kilala, right?" Shppo said nervously. After the final battle three years ago, Kilala and Sango had parted ways so Kilala could explore the world. 

                               “Of course Shippo, why do you ask?" Kagome questioned him curiously.

                               “Well because Mama I would like to introduce my mate to you."

                               “Okay Shippo. I've been excited to meet her ever sonce you mated her. So where is she?" Kagome asked.

                               “She's right here Mama." Shippo nervously said as he stepped aside. A small female with cream colored hair with black tips and red eyes stepped up.

                               “Okay, so how does this relate to Kilala Shippo?" Kagome asked.

                               “Take a closer look Mama, then you will see how it relates." Shippo said. Kagome gasped as she took a closer look. The neko yokai had a black diamond upon her forehead. She transfored and in her plack was the fire neko yokai Kilala.

                                “Kilala is that really you?" Kagome asked. The fire neko mewed and nodded her small head. She transformed back into her ningen form.

                                “Yes Kagome-chan, it truly is me, Kilala." Kilala's lips quirked up into a smirk as she winked at Kagome. She chuckled at Kagome's flabbergasted expression.

                                “Mama, Kilala is my mate." Shippo said with a nervous smile upon his lips.

                                “Hn. A fine choice for the both of you." Sesshomaru replied for his astonished mate.

                                “I am sorry Mama but we have to get home before our kits come looking for us." Shippo said. “My mate and I must return to our home and children. Maybe sometime we will bring over the kids so you can see your grandchildren." Shippo smiled.

                                 “Goodbye son. We hope to see you soon." Kagome and Sesshomaru said. Shippo and Kilala smiled and waved back before setting off.

                 *****************Later that day in Kagome's and Sesshomaru's private chambers*****************                 

                                 “Can you believe that Shippo mated Kilala?" Kagome asked. 

                                 “No but they did seem happy, did they not?" Sesshomaru asked as they laid down on their plush bed.

                                 “They did and that along with as long as they love each other is all that matters." Kagome answered Sesshomaru. Sesshomaru nodded and wrapped his arms around Kagome's waist. They fell asleep together.
