Kagome's New Love or New Heartbreak? by Katalynn
Prologue
“InuYasha! Watch out!" Kagome shouted to her dog-eared friend as she saw a neko yokai sneak up behind him with his sword raised as her hanyo friend slashed at the yokai in front of him. His transformed sword, Tetsusaiga, whizzing through the air as he cut down the yokai Naraku sent to distract them from their quest andslow down their group. The neko's eyes gleamed with malicious intent as he raised his sword higher in the air, preparing to bring his sword down upon InuYasha's back and head whilst the hanyo was distracted. Kagome's purifying arrow whizzed through the air and hit the neko right in his back where his heart beat. A smile of satisfaction upon her plump, pink lips as she watched the neko yokai turn to dust in a matter of seconds after her arrow hit its mark and float in the wind.
“Sit boy!” Kagome bellowed as she shot wave after wave of purifying arrows right where InuYasha's head had been before she sat him. She smiled and wiped the blood, gore, and grime off of her face.
“What was that for, bitch?!” InuYasha screamed as his face grew red.
“Humpf! That was to save you, dog boy! Remind me to never try to save your sorry ass again!” Kagome screamed. As they were fueding, a yokai managed to sneak upbehind InuYasha and shove his arm through InuYasha's gut and slashed his sword across the hanyo's back before he perished. InuYasha merely snarled and kicked the yokai's corpse away from him as Kagome worriedly called out his name. The battle began anew with renewed vigor.
Once Kagome shot her last arrow, she called out to InuYasha. InuYasha leapt over to her and scoopedher up into his arms and leapt ten yards away from where he was previously standing. He stood in front of Kagome protecting her from the yokai. When there was only a few yokai left he suddenly stopped and looked around. He caught the scent of graveyard soil, dirt, bones, decaying flesh, and death that suddenly permeated through the battlefield. His eyes grew large and rounded as he caught sight of the former Shikon No Tama Miko, protector of the Shikon No Tama, and his dead love.
“K-Ki-Kikyo.” His quite whisper seemed to thunder and echo in Kagome's ears. He leapt towards Kikyo. Her cold, dead, lifeless, brown eyes greeted him and she smiled coldly at him when he embraced her. She began to embraced him back as she smirked sadistically towards Kagome as a flash of triumph shown in her brown eyes. InuYasha seemed to forget everything around him as he held onto Kikyo. Kikyo pulled back from his embrace and smiled sweetly at him as she asked,“InuYasha? Can you take me somewhere else?” InuYasha's eager nod quickly answered Kikyo's quiet request. He bent down and allowed Kikyo to climb upon his back and once he was sure she was safe and secure on his back he leapt away from the battle, forgetting and leaving behind “his" pack still fighting.
“Aaahhh!” Kagome's shriek of pain echoed in the clearing as a yokai slashed from her left shoulder across her back and then spun in front of her and slashed across her left side opposite the side where Mistress Centipede left the scar after ripping the Shikon No Tama from Kagome's body. She groped for something around her body and grabbed a thick tree limb and charged it with her reiki and stabbed the yokai with it. Her shriek drew the attention of Sango, Kilala, Shippo, and Miroku who ran to her side and protected her. Sango swung Hiraikotsu at their enemies, Shippo using his foxfire against anyone that got to close to his adoptive okaa-san, Kilala ripped their enemies in two as the came at Kagome, and Miroku used his Wind Tunnel against their enemies. Once every single enemy yokai had been destroyed, Kagome climbed upon Kilala's back as did everyone else and they quickly flew to Kaede's hut.
Once they reached Kaede's hut, Miroku and Sango helped Kagome ease of off Kilala while Shippo sat on her left shoulder patting her hand as he murmured things in her ear to comfort her as she occasionally hissed in pain from her wounds becoming aggravated from her blue blouse, now stained with blood, rubbing against them. Once they got Kagome safely into Kaede's hut and comfortably placed on the hut's floor. Kagome called to Shippp,“ Shippo, honey? Could you please get me my black backpack for me?”
“Sure thing, 'kaa-san.” Shippo said. He dragged her new, black backpack she got to replace her hideous, yellow backpack after it finally fell apart to her.
“Thanks son.” Kagome told Shippo. She dug around in her pack until she dug out the first aid kit and the extra medical supplies. She opened the first aid kit and got out her needle and stitches. She carefully inspected the wound on her left side. She disinfected it by pouring peroxide in the gashes continuously until the gashes no longer bubbled and all the bacteria in the wounds were no longer festering. She then started to stitch up the gashes without flinching. She stitched up the wounds upon her left side beautifully and perfectly without any hestitation or mistakes. She then asked Kaede to disinfect, stitch up, and bandage both sets of wounds as she couldn't bandage the wounds on her side because she would have ended up bandaging the wounds on her back and she couldn't do that without risking the wounds upon her back festering.
“Thank you Kaede for helping me.” Kagome said to Kaede as she smiled radiantlly. She turned her attention to Sango and asked,“ Sango, would it be alright if I borrowed Kilala so I could get to the Bone Eater's Well faster than I would if I went on foot? I would like to be in my time so I could heal faster than I would if I stayed in this time and besides I miss my family. I could also use the time to catch up on my homework and classwork. I'll seal the Bone Eater's Well so InuYasha can't get through but Shippo will be able to use the well to transend time if need be, alright? If that's okay with you all, I mean.”
“Sure no problem, Kagome.” Sango told Kagome. 'Be safe Kagome,' Sango thought.
“Thanks Sango.” Kagome said. Kagome whistled through her teeth and called Kilala to her. Kilala bounded over to her and rubbed against her jean clad legs. “Kilala, would you mind taking me to the well?” Kagome asked Kilala. Kilala transformed to answer Kagome's question. Kagome gingerly climed up on Kilala's back as the fire neko knelt down so Kagome could climb up more easily. Kilala then took off. Five minutes later, Kilala landed in the clearing with the Bone Eater's Well and the Tree of Ages.
“Thanks Kilala. I'll bring you back some treats, okay?” Kagome said. Kilala nuzzled her in response. “Bye Kilala, see you once I'm better. ” After Kagome said that, she jumped in the well. She smiled as the comforting blue glow that always appears when she transends time enveloped her.
