Baffled by a Human by Wren Lee

Mortal 'Gift'

The green toad youkai peered down at the baby in its arms. Its heart beat a fragile tattoo unlike the heart of any demon the stewardess had ever heard. Glancing up at her mistress she asked the question that they had left unvoiced since they found the small creature lying in a courtyard asleep.

“What do we do with it Inukimi-sama? It is human…”

The inuyoukai sighed dramatically, “Well it is not truly our concern, and the note left with it indicated the child as a gift to the acting ruler, who seems to have just returned. Come we shall go greet my son and present him with his gift.”

As her mistress began to walk towards the gate the stewardess sighed and resigned herself to the inevitable anger that her lord would demonstrate when he learned of his new gift. A gift that honor would not allow him to dispose of despite his disgust of the human race. There was a reason that his household was exclusively demon.

A/N: Here is the second chapter, I will post more tomorrow and after that posts will be a bit more spread out and a bit random. Since school and dance started I have very little time so forgive me if it takes a while for a new chapter to be posted!!
