Kagome stared long and hard at the chocolate milkshake in front of her.  She thought back on all her memories of Sesshomaru and tried to figure out if there had been some hint all along that indicated his interest in her.  All she could think of was the events months ago when she swore he was flirting with her right after she moved.  However, he had done a sudden turn around and she had all but forgotten about that behavior.

“Kagome, could you tell me what exactly you feel for my brother?”

Kagome focused on her milkshake.  What exactly did she feel for Sesshomaru?  She had to admit that despite all the things he’d done to her he’d never overstepped his boundaries and hurt her.  He’d scared her, he’d teased her, but he had never sought out to physically or emotionally harm her.  And that one time he’d gone into her house: she had been the one who had asked him where to hide her key when she’d moved in months ago.

In short, he was a stupid annoying acquaintance who had managed to find a small affectionate place in her heart.  He wasn’t Koga, he wasn’t any of her past boyfriends; he was Sesshomaru.  The idiotic Sesshomaru who treated her worse than any of her past boyfriends was the one person she knew she would miss if he were to disappear.

“I don’t know who he is to me.”  She managed out, needing to let Rin know so that maybe she could help her understand her own thoughts.  “I just know that I can’t imagine my life without him.”
