Prompt:  Beginnings

Needless to say, dinner had been awkward and tense.  Rin hadn’t managed to find out Kagome’s fears due to the fact that anything she might or could say was hastily taken back in the face of Kagome’s anger.  She had however noticed something and it seemed that her boyfriend had too. 

Kagome loved chocolate and when it came time for dessert Sesshomaru had surprised them all by bringing out a decent pint of delicious chocolate ice cream.  He hadn’t known of her love for the sweet but he had nonetheless been quite intrigued by the way Kagome ate it. 

She licked the spoon, not wasting one bit of the brown, gooey substance and had made quite a show of it.  To Rin and Shippo, this was normal Kagome behavior.  To Sesshomaru on the other hand, the act was… intriguing and she had noticed in him the blatant beginnings of desire. 

Rin shuddered at the memory of her brother’s blatant lust filled gaze and was silently bemoaning the fact that he was apparently (even if he would never admit it) drawn to Kagome.  Her eyes widened and the plate she was washing nearly dropped from her hands as she regarded Sesshomaru. 

Maybe, just maybe, she didn’t have to go about shuffling between picking a side.  Perhaps all she had to do was fix the mess that they had gotten into in the first place and let them settle things through alternative methods?  She made a face as she rinsed the soapy dish in her hands.  She didn’t like how that sounded. 

But… she looked at her brother again.  She could try though and see what happened couldn’t she?
