Twists in Fate by NicoRavenPen
Prompt: Fangs
Gilded eyes took in the being he held captive, his nose picking apart the scent emitting from it. The underlying tones were familiar, a fresh watery scent that he knew, though they were overlaid with something darker, headier.
Eyes narrowing further with his inspection he leaned back a moment to critically analyze her features even as his son stepped closer. She took the moment to breath deeper, though he did not release her from his steely grip or gaze. Continuing his inspection, he tilted his head in consideration.
Though her irises were laced with a sheen of silver, the shape of them was the same as a pair of familiar blue hues that he’d seen many a time. Her face shape was the same, and despite the petite, curving fangs peeking from between her lips, the mouth was the same as well. Pleasantly pouty and bowed. Though now there was the tinge of blood gracing them…
Taking another deep breath he knew that it was not his son’s blood that she’d partaken of. His eyes cleared.
“I am sorry,” she whimpered, seeing this. “I lost control.”
In a surprising subconscious reaction, she tilted her head to the side in submission, baring her own throat to him.
He was sure that she didn’t even realize she’d done it, or what it meant for her.
Clenching his jaw in irritation he loosened his hold minutely, stepping back and pulling her forward a step.
“Father, do you know her?”
“Hn.”
Kagome stumbled slightly as he stepped back again, leading her away from the eaves of the tree and closer to his son.
“Who is she?”
His son’s curiosity irked him. It caused him untold amounts of trouble at times…
“She is- was- Inuyasha’s miko.”
He could practically feel the boy’s energy perk at the mention of his half-brother.
“Uncle Inuyasha? Will I be permitted to meet him?”
“No.” He glared at the female before him, as if his son’s pestering was her fault.
The boy sighed but he ignored it, his eyes trained on the miko as he slowly released her throat.
She didn’t move, more than likely afraid of the repercussions should she do so, and he watched for any potential signs of movement.
When he was satisfied that she would not lash out in any way, he turned.
“We leave. Now.”
“Yes father.” The boy deflated but followed without complaint.
They both headed to the tree line, but when he did not hear the female following he stopped, glaring at her over his shoulder.
She flinched, her bloodied hands cradled to her chest.
“You as well. Come.”
