Fall for me by Dandie
Sorry
Kagome was having a bad day. It seemed like no matter what she did, she messed it up somehow!
She had always been accused of having two left feet, as she could not maneuver around anything without falling or hurting herself. (Or someone who got in the way.) So it probably was not a good idea for her to work at a coffee shop. But a few spilled grains of coffee really was not that big of a deal… and as of yet she had not caused any irreparable damage to any of the machines.
When she had woke up this morning she had slammed her head on the ceiling (She rented an attic, so the ceilings were really low. Why she thought that was a good idea… Argh) then she had slipped on one of her socks to the bathroom. Luckily she had caught herself just before her face hit the floor. She had gotten ready for work without hassle and had left the house feeling a little better… Just to be splashed by a car driving by. It had not even rained! Where the heck did all of that water come from? Geesh.
She had arrived to work slightly late, because she ran upstairs to change her clothes so she would not be sopping wet all day. Her boss had not been mad, but gave her that look that let her know it would not be tolerated behavior.
And now, to top everything off… She had spilled her coffee on a man that could be a god. He was very tall… With white hair that went past his waist. He also had dazzling golden eyes that were staring daggers at her at the moment. She felt like she could cry. Why could she not do anything right? It seemed like a bad luck bug had been following her her entire life!
“I-I am so sorry sir,” she stammered, grabbing a rag and whipping around with it to help blot the stain. What she did not realize was the fact that the rag had been halfway into the water in the sink. Water and suds flew through the air to hit the man straight in the face. Oh god. If looks could kill… She would be dead and buried.
“Oh my god!” What the hell is wrong with me? Her mind screamed.
That is when her manager stepped in.
“I am extremely sorry sir. We will pay for your dry cleaning, and this girl is officially fired right now. This is not something that we tolerate here. You will not see her again.” Her manager turned to her and raised a brow, as if it so, ‘Ok, you can leave now.’
“I- I just… I am so sorry,” with a sob Kagome ran out the door. She could not even hold down a job! How was she going to pay rent? She was going to be a homeless disaster. Without even realizing it… Kagome had stopped running right in the middle of the street. She heard a horn and gasped, then felt her arm yanked in a different direction.
“Jeez, it’s just a job. No need to kill yourself over losing it! You can get other jobs you know!” Kagome’s face was flattened against a very hard chest. She mumbled something… Not being able to move due to the stranger’s tight hold on her. But wait… She recognized that voice.
She gasped and looked up into the face of the man she had spilled coffee all over.
“What are you…? Why did you..? I just…” Kagome started bawling again. She had been fired… And then rescued from getting hit by a car from the man who had basically gotten her fired. How ironic!
“Look, please do not try to kill yourself. I would not want that on my conscience. I do not even agree with your manager firing you. I talked to him. Go back in there and work. Just try not to spill stuff on other people. They might not be as nice at me.” With that, he let her go and walked away.
