In the time before their Mating it was hard to believe they would ever make it. Much less that a deep and abiding love would be the reward for their struggles. They began as seemingly polar opposites, tenuous allies at best. And that due to the looming Final Battle with Naraku. They fought their attraction and each other at every turn. Neither at first willing to bend. Sesshomaru, “The Killing Perfection”, Daiyoukai, and Lord of the Western Lands. And she, Kagome, Mortal, “The Shikon no Miko”... Unknowing future Lady of the Western Lands. The final battle began it all. The raw power Kagome wielded to slay Naraku stunned the Daiyoukai.
And made him reconsider many preconceived notions. Though they had many obstacles to overcome, With Court and others. Looking back, neither would change a thing. Especially given the impending birth of their first-born, his heir. Memories could indeed be sweet...
