Another Letter Appears

“Another letter?” Miroku exclaimed, bringing attention to the two boys that were huddled over another messy piece of folded paper. “And didn’t you say, you changed your lock.”

“Yes, it has a different combination and yet somehow, whoever this is, managed to unlock it and place this abnormal envelop inside.”

“You didn’t do zero-one, eleven, eleven did you?” Miroku blandly said, shrinking back a bit when Sesshomaru’s facial expression turned into something rather icy and frightening.

“How did you know that?” he quietly inquired, his fingers tapping lightly against his notebook in boredom.

Miroku shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly. “Well everybody knows that combination. Anyways what did it say this time?” he immediately changed the subject, if only for his own health since Sesshomaru threw the most seething glare known to man.

“Just read it.”

Miroku opened the perfumed envelope with ravenous eagerness. The writing was a bit hard to read, but like before he could pick out key phases that really stuck out.

Like, I really enjoyed watching you play basketball.

“How can this person know you were playing basketball when gym is separated from the girls?” Miroku asked, his eyebrows furrowed with confusion. “Don’t tell it’s a guy…” he murmured in a grave voice, dramatically clutching his chest at the atrocity.

Sesshomaru’s lips were twisted in a visible frown. “It’s not a guy.”

“How would you know?” he asked, scratching the back of his head.

“I know you’re brain can’t comprehend some things, however you know exactly who are in our gym class.”

Miroku thought for a good second, trying to remember anything unusual that happened yesterday. “You’re right, all of them are man-whores or has a girlfriend, so it can’t possibly be a guy… so it’s a girl, but she must be really sneaky and slick not to get caught.”

“It’s probably a girl who has the ability of being inconspicuous.” Sesshomaru mused, staring at the letter, wishing it could combust into flames.

“But who…” Miroku hummed, his eyes squinted as if he was thinking hard.

“Itou-san and Taisho-san, do you want to read that note you’re passing around to the class?” came the normal squawk from their math teacher, a woman with a hideous aquiline nose, large eyes and a thin, usually frowning mouth. She reminded the students of a witch with her dreadful appearance. Even though Sesshomaru was her prized student, she had a pet peeve of anybody interrupting her lectures.

“No sensei, it’s something I even have a hard time reading, you can give it a try.” Miroku held out the letter, ignoring the piercing stare from his best friend. The teacher huffed, not wanting to waste time or indulge in a schoolboy’s crummy letter, she let the matter dropped after gesturing sharply towards the trashcan to dispose the paper. “It looked like you wanted to kill me after I did that.” he said after returning back to his seat, sweating lightly when the boy besides him gave him the cold shoulder.

Miroku would never know how right he was. He was an inch from strangling the boy, angry that he would publicized his humiliation. Miroku was lucky their current teacher was a grouchy, no-nonsense woman or else something bad would have happened to him.
