A Messy Letter

He stared at what was a small envelope.

Sesshomaru furrowed his brows together, taking in the sloppy cursive penmanship of his name situated lopsidedly near the center. Even without opening it, he could smell the overpowering stench of old lady perfume and it was surely irritating his nose, causing his allergies to flare, but his curiosity has been stroked and he opened the fold.

He didn’t want to take out the letter from within, it had a suspicious brown stain on it. He grabbed one clean corner however, between his thumb and pointer finger. Holding it at arms-length, he shook it open, watching it unfold. It was wrinkled and the handwriting was illegible with cursive being the main writing style and the fact whatever that brown stain was on the paper diluted the pencils marks into clusters or disappear completely. Even from the distance, the perfume was giving him a headache and making his nose run and become stuffy.

The discomfort he must endured to sate his curiosity.

He wished his collar was high enough to cover his nose with, but he had to make dues with reading the letter as quickly as possible before his nose fell off. He had trouble comprehending what was being said as he didn’t excel at writing or reading the fancy scrawl of loops and soft curves, but some words just stood out.

Like, I’m always thinking about you.

And, I’m always watching you.

As well as, I love you, and signed with, with lots of love, the future Ms. Taisho, and adorned with hearts and smiley faces.

His eyebrow ticked.

Great, now he had a creeper giving him letters, who inconveniently happened to know Inuyasha since he was the only other person that knew his combination, unfortunately. He sighed, now it was time to change locks… again. Grabbing his forgotten history book and slamming the metal locker shut before pocketing the letter, he headed back to class. Why he chose to carry it with him, he had no idea, but throwing the letter in the trash didn’t seem to be an option. Or maybe he was deeply curious of  the giver.
