******** Love everything Inuyash....BUT don't own the rights to this awesome Manga by Rumiko Takahashi..."sigh"........*******

Kikyo looked up at her apartment building, huffing slightly.... she has done it again... lost an amount of time that day and for the life of her she couldn't remember what she has done during that close to two hour timeframe.  Worse yet, her and her fiance Sesshoumaru were expected tonight at his parents New Years Eve Ball.  She had managed to snag a beautiful dress that matched the incredible tanzanite choker that her sister Kagome had bought for her late November.

She and her sister both are accomplished business women, Kikyo running her own ad agency and Kagome owning a very succesful jewlery store chain that was about to expand into Europe.  Looking at her watch Kikyo cursed seeing that she only had an hour to prepare for the party. She ran to the elevator and hit the button for the tenth floor her mind racing back and forth between her recent memory problems and the creep her sister was dating.

Naraku had been through most of high school and college with them both and he always creeped her out.  After Kagome had dumped Inuyash (finally!!) two years ago she rebounded in the wrong direction and since then her and Naraku have been an item.  The only good thing was that Kagome's confidence had soared and she has become somewhat cocky BUT it was a big improvement over being a doormat.  The downside was that she heard rumors that Naraku was into the dark arts...but Kagome just waved off her inquires about that topic. "He's my refuge." was her usual response. Oh well...

"Oh my God...finally" She exclaimed as she fumbled with the keys and finally got the door opened.

She walked in and noticed that the light was on in the kitchen casting some light into the living room.  She heard a chuckle and looked toward the sound. There in the highback antique chair next to her duncan fife sofa sat Kagome, legs crossed and a smirk on her face.

"Dear sister... I didn't think you were ever going to get here..." amusement showing in her eyes.

" Uh...yeah. I've been losing track of time here as of late. I guess a trip to the doctor is in order the first of the year." Kikyo cleared her throat "Ah...what are you doing here??"

" Oh sister....we do have something important  to discuss" Kagome was studying her nails and then gave Kikyo a sharp look.....

"What Kagome??  Is this so important that it can't wait until tomorrow?  You know that Sesshoumaru and I are expected at his parents party tonigh.... and I only have forty five minutes to get ready now"

"Well.....how should I put this.....it's Sesshoumaru and you...yeah, that just doesn't cut it with me.  I do believe I'll take him from here on out." Kagome stated as she rose from the chair and stalked over to Kikyo.

"WHAT!!!... HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND!!!!" Kikyo shouted and made to move but found she couldn't.

Kagome walked by her and brushed some of Kikyo's hair back behind her ear and leaned forward and wispered "As of tonight, I'm taking him sister."

"That necklace your wearing" she smirked " Is charmed, And you have signed over all of your earthly possesions to me as stated in your will if you have no heirs or husband apon your death.....that by the way will happen in at least fifteen to twenty minutes from now."

"I don't have a will yet" Kikyo was sweating, she couldn't move at all.

"Oh yes you do dear sister...that was the first thing I had you do after you put on my gift" Kagome was standing in front of her now and the wide smile she wore reminded Kikyo of a shark.  "You have been a very busy girl doing my bidding but you can't rememember any of it,  hence your memory blackouts."

Kagome tsked......." They will say poor Kikyo, working so hard she fell asleep at the wheel driving home. But don't worry.  I will help poor Sesshoumaru pick up the pieces after your gone,"  and with another chilling smile she stated  "Go on now and be a good girl.  Go get in your car and you already know the rest."

As Kagome moved her finger in a circular motion Kikyo did manage to choke out as she was turning around  "But you and Naraku??"

"Naraku does happen to be a master spellcaster dear sister....and he was more than happy to help me with my goal because of the way you always lead him on only to humiliate him...preferable in front of a crowd. My dear brother in the dark arts is really a sensitive soul at heart....so, we both win here.  Time to go dear sister"

With that Kikyo's eyes took on a glazed look and she walked out of the apartment.  Kagome walked to a large mirror and waved her hand over it, She watched as her sister exited the building and got back into her car.  Kagome watched as the car weaved in and out of traffic picking up speed.  She saw the speedometer hit eighty as Kikyo slammed into the end of a guard rail slicing the car just about into.  And she felt Kikyo's life ebb out throuht the necklace and finally she was gone.

Kagome calmly picked up her purse and that beautiful blue dress her sister had brought in...since she wouldn't be needing it anymore.  She needed to head to her house so she could receive the call about her sister's untimely death.... and to comfort not only her family but most importantly Sesshoumaru....

It was nice to be the lucky one......
