Kagome walked down the stairs of her house slowly and carefully in the middle of the night, the halls were all dark expect for the lights shining from the Christmas tree. Once she reached the ground floor she walked straight to the tree shining innocently in the middle of the living room, she wantred nothing more than the wrapped gifts to disappear and for her Christmas wish to come true. She gazed sadly at the star shining radiantly at the top of the pine tree before tearing her eyes off it just as a tear slid down her cheek.

She gazed longingly at the stars brilliantly shining outside and hoped for him to come in time for Christmas this year.

"Kagome, dear is that you?" 

Turning around, she saw her mother-in-law holding a shawl against her and not wanting to see the look of pity in her eyes turned back to look at the stars shining blazingly down on earth. Arms wrapped around her, turning her around, she gently pulled Kagome into her and listened as her daughter cried on her shoulder.

She gently stroked Kagome's hair as she gazed out the window at the stars dancing around in their brillance and gently whispered in her daughter's ear,

"He'll be here, I promise."
