A New Family

 A/N: Prompts: Framily, Elves

    Sano and Satoshi plucked at the tights they were wearing before grimacing at a glaring Kagome.  The party was going to start in an hour and Kagome had forced them to put their clothes on because she didn’t know if any kids would arrive early and it was better for them to be as prepared as possible for when the party started. 

     “Oh suck it up you two.”  The two sighed and then nodded as the caterers arrived.  Kagome and Sango began instructing them on what to do and where to place the food while Satoshi and Sano looked on and waited.  And maybe, when Kagome wasn’t looking, kept awkwardly shuffling in their pants. She soon instructed them to begin organizing the tables and make sure everything was perfect before the doors opened. 

     The kids were so excited to see elves.  Well, the youngest batch was.  The teenagers couldn’t help but gawk at them and silently praise them for their well courage in wearing the tight clothes.  Sesshomaru had taken to standing by Kagome who was overseeing the crowd.  Sango had manned the food with Satoshi while Sano- after a nod from Kagome- began to organize the gifts. 

     “You seem to be staring at her quite a lot.”  Kagome commented noting that Sesshomaru kept looking towards a young girl who was animatedly talking to a teenager a couple years older than her.   Already she could see that the young girl was experiencing her first crush. 

     “I plan to adopt her.”  Sesshomaru stated softly.  “I do not normally do this, but I- I want to care for her and make her mine- give her a place in my family.”  Kagome’s eyes gleamed and she smiled mischievously as she dragged him to where the gifts where. 

     “What’s her name?”  She asked as they approached Sano. 

     “Matsuda Rin.”  Nodding, Kagome gave Sano the initials and when he passed her the package, she thrust it into Sesshomaru’s hands. 

     “We’ll begin passing out gifts soon- give this to her yourself and tell her what you want to do when no one’s looking.”  Surprised but pleased at the help he was receiving, Sesshomaru nodded and waited his turn to give his gift. 

     “Rin-san,”  He stated approaching her and taking her aside, “I need to ask you something before I give you your gift.”  Rin nodded, a little scared of what was going on.  She was quick to note that it was only her who was getting the special gift from Mori-san. 

     “Rin-san, I… I noticed in you something that I noticed in myself.  I want you to have a home and be cared for.  I want to be your father.  Will you let me?”  The little girls’ eyes lit up before she nodded her head excitedly. 

     “Wonderful, then here take this for now.  Tomorrow, when I visit your orphanage, I’ll talk more about this with you.”
