The Mori Christmas Gala by kaoruhana

Teasing Kagome

Prompt: Garlands

Garlands of tinsel and evergreen decorated the banquet hall.  Kagome stood at the entrance of the room as Sano and Satoshi hung a garland on the far wall.

“No- a little to the right, a tad left, stop!”  She yelled out causing the two young men to start and nearly fall off their ladders.  They sighed however and Sango rolled her eyes from underneath them as she handed them the pins.  Kagome was being a little exuberant today and they had to only guess why.

“Kagome?”  Sango asked handing the last pin to Sano. “Can we take a lunch break now?  The garlands are all hung up now and it’s nearing noon?”

“Noon?”  The party planner squeaked out suddenly.  “Shit, I need to go!”  Kagome normally didn’t curse but she was known to dawdle on things quite a bit and get lost in her tasks.  Still, Sango wondered just what it was that was causing her friend to act so flustered.

“Kagome-san?”  The answer to Sango’s question came into appearance at the door.   Oh, so that was what her friend was up to- a lunch date.  Sango giggled and Kagome turned to level her friend a glare.  She was supposed to have told her workers to scatter for lunch, but instead she had forgotten the time.

“I’m ready.”  She mumbled out sticking out her tongue at Sango and glaring at the college boys who were now giggling at her.  “And you know what folks- this never happened.  You never saw me lose my cool.  Got it?”

“Yes, of course we didn’t.”  Satoshi stated a grin threatening to break out on his face.  “Say Kagome, when can we expect you back from your date?”

“Can it!”  The party planner yelled on her way out.  “And just for that, you better start decorating those garlands while you’re at it!”
