Telling Sango

A/N: Prompt: Shopping

Kagome was lost in her own world the next day as she and Sango decorated the tables.  Sano and Satoshi had exams today so they weren’t able to make it but Kagome found that she didn’t care.  It seemed that her happiness was quite apparent because Sango asked her what was distracting her.

“Oh.”  Kagome stopped in her task and addressed her friend.  “Well yesterday, after you all left Mori-san came by.”  Sango nodded and Kagome continued.  “He came by with gifts.  See, every year we wrap them but this year I kind of forgot about it.  So we went shopping and picked up the stuff to wrap things in.”

“Shopping?  Where?  You must have bought out an entire store!”

“We went to the Murasaki place- you know the one next door to the Yamada Party Supplies Warehouse.”  Sango raised an eyebrow at the we but let it slide.  If she teased Kagome now, the woman would take offense and a whole lot of drama would ensue.

“Good for you then, I guess.  So when are you planning on wrapping presents?”

“Tomorrow.”  Kagome stated noting Sango’s startled face.  “Relax- I don’t mind doing it.  You have that date with your guy and I know Sano and Satoshi are busy with their finals.  Besides, Mori-san agreed to help me.”  She said the last part slowly, trying not to draw attention to the fact that the man who hired them had inadvertently been roped into work for them.

“Mori-san and you are wrapping presents together?”  Sango asked slowly and carefully.  Kagome nodded and her colleague smiled slyly.  “Well then, I won’t disturb you.”  She said the last part with an accompanying wink that had her friend sputtering in indignation.
