A Kindly Gesture

Sesshomaru had the unfortunate task of delivering each card, something he haven’t volunteered to do, but was forced to after a very persuasive point from his wife. Sometimes he wondered how she became so domineering, she have been acting strange... well more strange than usual.

He shook his head, wrapping his scarf more firmly around the lower part of his face. Maybe he should have took his car, but that was just wasting gas and Kami knows how he got when something was wasted for trivial matters. Luckily, Kagome didn’t make so many cards like last year; he was glad some of the families moved, he didn’t want to spend an hour in the cold getting to each house in the neighborhood.

“Hey there neighbor!” Sesshomaru mentally cringed, it was the fat idiot who liked hugging everyone. He turned before the man could start coming to him, heading in the opposite direction. He would just deliver the card when the man goes back inside his home. “Are you delivering Christmas cards Taisho-san?”

Damn, maybe he should have hid the cards inside his jacket, but Kagome didn’t want them to be crinkled.

“I have one for you and the missus.” The older man said, not knowing or observant enough to know Sesshomaru was trying avoid him, “My wife was nagging about them.” In his large hands was a cream envelope with The Taisho Family written in neat cursive. “I personally don’t like them, but what can I say.”

Sesshomaru was surprised when the man handed him the card without physically touching or grabbing him. He wanted to release the sigh that was building up, relieved that he avoided the dreaded gesture that Kagome thought was cute.

“Oh wait, I almost forgot.” The man gave a small chuckle.

A second later he was engulfed in a large, tight bear hug.
