Helpless and Hopeless
“I need you to stop breaking those ornaments.” growled Kagome as she placed a golden sphere on a spiny branch. She was glad they finally placed the tree up however, she had to laugh when Sesshomaru had trouble setting up the fake tree. From her point of view, she didn’t understand how he could have so much trouble doing a simple task. Luckily they didn’t have to buy a new tree, he managed without causing much damage to it.
Sesshomaru merely glared, another broken fragments of what used to be a perfectly green sphere laid on the wooden floor. It wasn’t his fault the flimsy branches can’t support the weight.
“You aren’t placing them on correctly!” with a huff, Kagome snatched the ornament from his hand and demonstrated how to accomplish the nonsensical task. “You place the branch through the hoop, not just place it there and think it’s gonna hold.”
He huffed. “I know exactly what I am doing, don’t insult me.”
“You broke ten ornaments already, that shows me that you don’t know.”
“Since you are skilled at placing ornaments on trees, how about you do them?”
Kagome crossed her arms, not realizing the trap that has been set up. “Fine, I will show you how it’s done!”
Thirty minutes later and Kagome placed every ornament on the tree by herself while Sesshomaru sat, watching T.V and relaxing. That simple trick was his key to getting out of whatever activity his wife had in mind and it worked every time.
Mess up enough and they’ll complete it themselves.
