Red-Nosed Melody
“Rudolf the red nose reindeer, had a very shiny nose…” The singing trailed off into mumbles. “How does it go again?”
Sesshomaru turned his back, pulling the covers over his head to muffle the atrocious singing of his wife. Why did she have to sing, it was far too early. And she has been singing the same tune since waking up at five o’clock to do whatever the hell she was doing for the past two hours.
“Rudolf the red nose reindeer, had a very shiny nose and if you ever saw it, you can even say it glows… hmm is that how it goes?”
Gods, he needed some ear muffs. It was terribly off-key and her voice cracked in different places, but yet only she seems to think she sang like a popular singer, not aware that her voice could crack windows.
“Rudolf the red nose rein--”
“How many times are you going to sing that blasted song? You sound like a broken record repeating yourself.” And you really sound like one too. But he didn’t dare voice that out loud. But at that point he might as well have. He was incurably grumpy and his eyes were hurting for staying up for two hours, forced to listen her squawks. Didn’t she know he had to wake up in an hour to get ready for work? Was she torturing him?
When nothing was heard for a minute, he closed his eyes and wrapped the blanket firmly against him to ward off the cold, ready for a short sleep.
“Rudolf the red nose reindeer, had a very shiny nose and if you ever saw it, you can even say it glows…”
She was really torturing him and the slight mocking tone from her singing told him she was enjoying it immensely.
