Brotherly Bonds

The two males sat on the couch, one outwardly grumbling while the other sat in silence, a slight frown gracing his face.

“Why are we here?” Inuyasha whined, kicking his feet up on the table. The next second, his wife lightly patted his feet off and Inuyasha grumbled once more.

“Trust me, I didn’t want you here.”

“Sesshomaru don’t be mean, you know Inuyasha is welcomed here.”

He scoffed, “When did we agree to that?”

“Hey! I’m right here!” Inuyasha yelled out. He crossed his arms when his older brother ignored him and Kagome sent him a apologetic smile.

“I’m still trying to figure out why.”

“Be nice!” Kagome glared. “I wanted them to come over because we haven’t seen them since we went caroling.”

“That was plenty of time to re-familiarize ourselves with the idiot and his wife.”

“Oi! Keep talking bastard! We’re gon’ fight!”

“Inuyasha, we’re not here to fight.” Kikyo calmly intervened, placing a placating hand on her aggravated husband’s arm.

“B-but do you hear what this bastard is saying to me?!”

“What have we talked about before coming here.” At that Inuyasha sulked, his bottom lip jutting out in a pout.

Sesshomaru could feel the seething glare from his lovely wife. “How can you be so disrespectful?” He crossed his arms and looked away. “…acting like a bunch of children.” Kagome grumbled to herself, resuming her work of decorating tiny mistletoe with small ribbons.

Inuyasha spoke up after a minute of silence. “If that’s all y’all gonna do, why the hell am I here?”

“Brotherly bonding?” Kagome hesitantly suggested.

Both brothers scoffed.
