Simplicity Works Best

Sesshomaru thought Kagome was going to place the garlands of green, gold, red and platinum tinsels around the Christmas tree, but he had no idea of how ugly it looked being placed on every square feet and available surface space.

“I think you are overdoing it.” He nonchalantly remarked.

Kagome looked up, trying--unsuccessfully--to loop the thin string of ruffled tinsels around the coffee table. “What do you mean?”

“Simplicity works most of the time.” He merely said, he was getting a headache looking at all the shiny colors around the room and he felt cramped.

Kagome stood up, gripping the piece she was working on tightly in her fist, a guarded look overcoming her once cheerful expression. “I’ve been working on this all day.”

“I can tell.”

“So do you want me to take it all down?” He could tell she didn’t want to, not that he could blame her as he was aware she spent a lot of her energy into decorating the house, but personally he thought it was a waste of time.

“Some of it.” Or else it would look like Who-ville at this rate. Sesshomaru thought to himself. He shook his head, he needed to stop watching that movie. But during the Christmas holidays, there was nothing to watch on T.V, which earned another strike against it from him.

She looked dejected, like a kicked puppy. “Okay, I guess this table doesn’t need any decorations.”

In the end, the coffee table was the only furniture that remained tinsel-free.
