All Around Me Are Familiar Faces, Worn Out Places, Worn Out Faces
Disclaimer: I do not own the lyrics of "Mad World".
A/N: This one doesn't really have a scenario, I was just thinking about how creepy some anime/manga expressions are. Hope you like it :)

Kagome weaved her way between the corpses, desperately trying to forge a path for the displaced young ones that would keep the worst of the carnage hidden from sight. The smell of decomposing flesh was overpowering, and the miko had to fight the urge to retch. It was foul and wrong and everything that she hated. All they could see for miles around them was scenes of senseless killing, the taking of someone's life for the thrill of it. The shards that rolled under her feet were the broken remains of what had not so long ago been defenseless villagers, peasants who had nothing to give except their lives; and some sick creature had taken them all gleefully.
A welcome presence arrived at her side, his silver hair fluttering in the corner of her eye. Kagome turned to the inuyoukai with tears of rage, disgust and helplessness; her despair clearly visible in the spasms of her face and the curling snarl adorning her lips. His answering growl was lethal, feral and promised retribution; not the swift kind, but the type that spans many precious moments of absolute agony and the temptation of obliteration. The filth would pay for what it had done.
The children shrank away from the terrifying strangers. The demon and the priestess had come to them in their time of need, when all they knew had been destroyed; but now their previously benevolent eyes were alight with the strange fire that had lit the faces of those who had ripped their mother, father and eldest brother limb from limb. The demon opened his mouth and howled, emitting the sound of bloodlust. The children whimpered, glad that they were exempt from their wrath.
The fury they witnessed was terrifying and glorious and something they would remember for the rest of their lives.
