Tears spilled down her cheeks, turning into ice from the cold. As he had done once before, Sesshomaru extended his hand to her. Choking on a sob, she ran to him. Ignoring his hand, she threw herself against his chest and felt his arms wrap tightly around her, holding her just as desperately as she held him.

“What took you so long?”

“Kagome,” he murmured with feeling, before kissing her—hard.

He drew back, stared into her eyes.

“Say it,” he commanded.

“I love you,” she whispered. Then, “Say it.”

Sesshomaru didn’t even hesitate.

“I love you, Kagome.”
