“Kanpai!” Miroku shouted drunkenly, raising his sake cup high into the air, some of the alcohol spilling out and onto his head, which set off the others into fits of laughter—except for Kagome.

Her friends were celebrating the news about Sango’s first pregnancy. The happily married couple had been all smiles when they’d shared their news to the group. Now, secluded in Kaede’s hut, Inuyasha and Miroku were the only ones to drink heavily, while Kaede sipped at her own, but the others drank not at all.
