An hour later, Sesshomaru halted in a small clearing, unable to continue walking as his emotions got the better of him. He turned on his heel, his face expressionless, save for the fire that burned hotly in his eyes, giving him away.

At first, Kagome didn’t notice that he had stopped, too caught up in her resentment towards Sesshomaru, that she almost collided with his armored chest. His hands caught her upper arms, stopping that from happening.

From just inches away, they stared into each other’s eyes with the many reasons why they were pissed off uppermost in their minds.
