Justifiably, she was reassuring the male she was interested in that she would never sleep around with another in an effort to stay in Sesshomaru’s good graces, however, being spoken about in such a manner rankled.

To save face, and perhaps to further taunt Sesshomaru, Akahito said, “Though I may not be the male she ultimately desires, if she remains unclaimed, then I will continue my pursuit. She did respond to me beautifully.”
